Welch Products Acquires Manufacturer of
Playground Equipment
and Recreational Site Amenities
Welch
Products announced today that it has acquired the operating assets of Play Tribe LLC, a manufacturer
of playground and recreational equipment based in Ozark Missouri.
Play
Tribe's manufacturing capabilities along with their innovative play and recreational
products will enhance the playground safety and compliance offerings of Welch's
subsidiary the National Safe
Surfacing Initiative (NSSI).
In
addition to new products and services, Welch will also add two key industry
veterans, Ernie Knight and Larry Moody to serve vital leadership roles within
NSSI's unique direct-to-customer marketing models as the company continues to
evolve its playground compliance offerings.
"Many
schools need safer play and fitness areas that are accessible to children of
all abilities. To meet these goals they
need an experienced company to assist them with achieving and maintaining
playgrounds that are fully compliant with the many federal and industry
guidelines," stated Tim Mahoney, NSSI President. "By adding the experience of Play Tribe's management team along
with their innovative products and services, we will be better positioned to
offer a full suite of playground compliance services, including trouble free,
high quality turnkey installations of playground equipment, surfacing and
outdoor sport facilities."
