Denise Bennett Selected for New
Position in Macon Missouri
Denise Bennett, ten year veteran of the recycled rubber
industry, was recently named as the Regional Manager of Sales and Distribution
for Welch Products in Macon Missouri.
"Denise
brings valuable market knowledge and experience to this position", stated Bruce
Boland, CEO of Welch Products. "We like
to reward individuals who work hard in contributing to our success and Denise
has been a consistent performer for us over the years. Her positive attitude and attention to
customer needs has created the necessary momentum for our safety surfacing
division in both Iowa and Missouri."
Ms. Bennett has seen many innovations in the rubber
products business in her ten years with Welch Products, especially with regards
to playground safety. "In the early
days, shredded rubber was thought to be a good replacement for wood chips and pea-gravel
in playgrounds, but eventually playground operators realized that shredded
rubber had the same undesirable characteristics as other loose fill
materials", Denise recalls.
Denise continues, "Seven years ago Welch developed its
patented process for manufacturing playgrounds safety tiles. After several months of testing, we launched
the DuroMat Extended Life™ playground safety surfacing to schools, childcare
centers and community parks throughout the Midwest, since then, we've really
changed the way administrators think about playground safety."
Denise has attended the National Playground Safety
Institute where, through training and testing, she became a Certified
Playground Safety Inspector and, most recently, National Playground Safety School at the University
of Northern Iowa, provided by the National Program for Playground Safety (NPPS)
where she earned the S.A.F.E. playground certification.
Boland concludes, "We look forward to Denise
spearheading our Welch and NSSI marketing initiatives in Missouri while
continuing to execute our growth plans."
